BMC Bylaws rev 9.21.17

The USGA suggests that the Handicap Committee send a notice to its members in order to outline the USGA Handicap System, to stress the importance of reporting all acceptable scores and to report the Handicap Committee’s policies.  So we have posted the Handicap Policies here on the BMC website.  Please refer to this policy when you have the opportunity.

To participate in BMC events, a GHIN Handicap Service is required and is available for BMC Members to purchase through the Braemar Pro Shop.

The policy is two pages of information so it won’t be reviewed here.  A few basic premises are worth pointing out:

1) Each player will try to make the best score at every hole in every round, regardless of where the round is played.

2) Each player will post every acceptable round for peer review.

3) Posting scores (in person) immediately following the round at the course where the round is played is the preferred way to expose scores to peer review.

The members of the BMC Handicap and Rules Committee will be posted in the Annual Roster book.

Remember, the purpose of the USGA Handicap System is to make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling players of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis.
