The 2019 Wednesday league returns to Braemar beginning when the course opens and ending in early September.
The league is for lower handicap players and is limited to those with USGA handicap indexes less than 12. Players are divided into teams of 3 (team handicaps will be approximately equal) with 2 players competing each week in a match play format against 2 players from another team. The lower handicap player from each team plays that of the other team as does the higher handicap player from each team. Handicaps are used in these two matches with the lower handicap player in each match giving the higher handicap player the stroke differential in their handicaps. Each match is worth 2 points (total of 4 based on two matches). One point is also given in a “gross” best ball match (no strokes) and a “net” best ball match (strokes used “where they fall”). Total for each match = 6 points.
Teams will be formed in early April with the final number of teams dependent on number of entries. The number of teams will dictate how the season is played.
Players need a valid USGA handicap with an index less than 12 to join.
